A Sustainable Sanctuary in Playa Guiones
Nestled in Playa Guiones, Nosara, Costa Rica, Casa Quinn is a private residence that harmoniously blends modern sophistication with eco-conscious design. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an inviting pool and social areas, this residence is thoughtfully crafted to embrace Costa Rica’s natural beauty and warm climate.
Inspired by sustainability, Casa Quinn prioritizes cross-ventilation and optimized orientations that open toward garden views. The design embraces natural wood for a refined aesthetic, with striking wooden eaves and clean white walls. Spread across three levels to adapt to the site’s steep topography, the residence takes advantage of vertical space. The lower level hosts a garage and gym area, the second level features the social area with a pool and cold plunge, and the third level houses the bedrooms, all unified by a stone wall that rises from the first level, anchoring the structure and supporting the staircase.
Arched windows in the bedrooms add a unique charm, while the open-plan social area benefits from ventilation on two sides, creating a seamless connection to the outdoors. The terrace alongside the infinity pool offers lush garden views, enhancing the feeling of a serene retreat.
Casa Quinn stands out for its creative design on a challenging, pie-shaped lot, achieving a graceful layout that maximizes the site’s potential. Designed with energy and water conservation in mind, the project preserves as many trees as possible on the property, making it a model of sustainability and architectural finesse.
